Every PDF Models kit is packed by hand in our Lincolnshire workshop and sent by Royal Mail. Here's what delivery costs and how long it takes.
UK delivery
Orders up to £100: £5.00
Orders over £100: Free
UK orders usually arrive 2–5 working days after they are dispatched. Every UK order is sent by Royal Mail Tracked 48, so you can follow it to your door. We also deliver to Guernsey at the same rates.
When will my order be dispatched?
Items in stock: usually dispatched within 3 working days.
Made-to-order kits: many of our locomotive kits are printed and cut to order. The lead time is shown on each product page, and the delivery times above start once your kit has been dispatched.
Mixed orders: if your order includes a made-to-order kit, we send everything together when the kit is ready, unless you ask us to split it.
International delivery
Europe (Austria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden): £15.00 + £5.70 EU duty and handling fees, plus local VAT
Norway: £18.00 + £8.00 duty handling fee, plus 25% VAT
Switzerland: £18.00 + £4.00 duty handling fee
USA: £25.00 + 50p Royal Mail duty handling fee, plus the 10% US tariff
Australia: £25.00
Rest of the world: £25.00
International orders usually arrive 1–2 weeks after dispatch.
Import duties, tariffs and taxes
Many countries charge tax or duty on goods coming in from the UK, usually as a percentage of the order value. Here's what to expect in the main countries we send to:
USA: 10% import tariff on UK-made goods, on every order whatever the value (the US ended its $800 duty-free allowance in August 2025). We add the tariff at checkout and pay it for you, so there's nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives.
Europe (the 15 countries listed above): import VAT at that country's rate (17–25%), plus EU customs duty and handling fees. We charge it all at checkout and pay it before your parcel leaves, so there's nothing to pay on delivery. For Spain and Luxembourg this covers orders up to €150 (about £130); email us first for bigger orders.
Other EU countries (e.g. Belgium, Poland, Greece): import VAT at that country's rate, plus EU customs duty and handling fees, on every order, paid by you when the parcel arrives.
Norway: 25% VAT. We charge it at checkout and pay it before your parcel leaves, so there's nothing to pay on delivery.
Switzerland: 8.1% VAT. We pay it for you, so there's nothing extra to pay at checkout or on delivery.
Canada: GST/HST, 5–15% depending on province, on orders over CAD 20.
Australia: 10% GST, only on orders over AUD 1,000, which are taxed at the border. Smaller orders have nothing extra to pay.
New Zealand: 15% GST. Orders over NZD 1,000 are taxed at the border. Lower-value rules depend on seller registration.
Japan: 10% consumption tax on orders over JPY 10,000.
Unless stated above, these charges are set by the destination country and paid by you when the parcel arrives. The local postal service usually adds a small handling fee. We can't mark parcels as gifts or lower the declared value.
Lost or damaged parcels
If your parcel arrives damaged, or hasn't arrived within the times above, email us at info@pdf-models.co.uk with your order number and we'll sort it out. See our Refunds & Returns Policy for full details.
